Note: If you are using Windows 10 or 11 in S mode then you cannot install software other than from the Microsoft Store. You would need to switch off S mode.
On Windows 10 the Microsoft Defender Smartscreen will block the installer initially when you try to start it from your downloads folder. Click the ‘More info’ button in the popup window and then click the ‘Run anyway’ button to start installing.
